Custom barndominiums, built for NC
Steel and post-frame homes engineered for the wind speed at your address, not a generic national spec. Buy the kit, buy the shell, or hand us the whole project from raw lot to certificate of occupancy.
What we build
Nine ways to get a barndominium out of your head and onto your land, from a shell kit you erect yourself to a finished home we hand you the keys to.
Barndominium Kits
Engineered shell packages drawn to your own county's wind and seismic numbers under the 2018 NC Residential Code, with the exclusions written down.
Custom Plans
Barndominium floor plans drawn for your parcel, your county's design figures and the septic system your bedroom count will actually need.
Metal Homes
Metal building homes finished to live in — envelope, insulation, condensation control and interior finish specified to your NC county's climate zone.
Post-Frame Homes
Pole barn homes across NC: post-frame houses built as dwellings under the NC Residential Code — not farm buildings, and not equipment sheds.
Steel Construction
Steel frame homes in NC: red iron and cold-formed framing, engineered from roof panel to anchor bolt — including what NC's code does not give steel.
Shouses
Shouses in NC — a working shop and a home under one roof, and the NC rules that decide where the wall between them falls.
Site Preparation
Clearing, grading, pad, drainage and driveway on NC ground — and the erosion control plan that has to be approved before any of it begins.
Turnkey Builds
A turnkey NC barndominium in the order it really happens: septic before permit, engineering before shell, a licensed trade for every system.
Permitting & Engineering
What the jurisdiction actually requires on an NC barndominium: one statewide code, no county amendments, and a permit package built to clear review.
Know which of these you want? A plan drawn for your land is where it starts.
Land to keys, in four stages
Barndominium projects go wrong early, at zoning and engineering, long before anyone pours concrete. Here is the order we work in and why.
Start your plans
Start the project form. We take your program, the rooms, the shop bay, how you actually want to live in it, and start a floor plan drawn for you rather than pulled off a shelf. This is the first real step and it is where most of the useful decisions get made.
That is how a build runs. Step one is a plan drawn for your land, and that starts with a conversation.
Got land? Let us look at it.
Send us the parcel and we will tell you what can be built on it, what the wind load will be, and roughly what it costs. No charge for that conversation.
